Blaire's mad question - Unique baby name spelling
Monday, November 10, 2008 at 07:24PM So things have gone a bit mad in the 'looking for inspiration' section. It looks like some dodgy kids from WA Catholic schools are having a bit of a laugh. And Blaire from WA has asked this tongue in cheek question'
********Question***********
I had quintuplets. is it weird to name them 1 2 3 4 5?
Blaire
******Tara's Response*************
I guess my first answer is "Yes it is weird, what a bogan thing to do Blaire!".
But interestingly this is not such a stupid question. Apparently the advent of 'text speak' has some younger parents considering using numerals in names. You know.. Kre8tif spelling.
But do any countries allow you use numerals as part of your name? The answer is No.
In New Zealand last year a couple tried to name their baby 4Real. Yep, I am for real, they really did. Anyway the NZ Government canned the name saying that a name has to be made up of characters not numerals.
In the end the parents named the kid 'Superman'. Poor kid.
SIDE NOTE: Although Blaire if you want to call your kids One, Two, Three, Four, Five... go for it.
